Saturnia

Known for its thermal waters, Saturnia is a small town in the province of Grosseto, a destination for artists, writers, and cultural and gastronomic events. Remains of Etruscan settlements, evidenced by the findings of several necropolises and the Saturnia Archaeological Museum, show that, like so many places in the Tuscan Maremma, Saturnia was a place of interest since the Middle Ages.
Today Saturnia is best known for the extraordinary beneficial properties of its sulfur waters, which rise on a volcanic crater making them--for their purity and curative properties--among the best in the world, so much so that they are included among the top ten thermal springs in Europe.

The Terme di Saturnia Natural SPA - considered by CNN to be the best spa in the world - is visited by discerning tourists, thanks also to the presence of the Golf Resort, giving this resort a prestige recognised throughout the world.

Another place that makes Saturnia a place with a very high presence of tourism, are the natural waterfalls of Gorello or Cascate del Mulino, an enchanting place of unique beauty. A thermal centre that is open at night, thanks to the water from the spring of the thermal baths, flows along a stream until it touches an old mill, creating waterfalls that froth and crash into the natural pools created over time. A breathtaking spectacle with an enchanting attraction!

Not far from Saturnia we find Montemerano, an ancient village surrounded by the Maremma countryside, a historic center with a medieval character, with its picturesque alleys and small squares.
Famous is the Church of San Giorgio with its unique collection of artwork from the Renaissance period or the theater that was formerly the Pieve di San Lorenzo who was the first patron saint of Montemerano.
